Mission Statement

Mission Statement

I intend to fully integrate the knowledge I gain from my training to combat the obesity epidemic that I believe is the pivot point of our high rate of chronic non communicable diseases as well as our above average cancer rates.  Having witnessed firsthand the horrific devastation this has visited on so many of my countrymen and women has ignited in me a passion to gain access to the cutting edge skills and information that can lead to better outcomes and turn the tide against obesity and cancer in my country.  As a Surgical resident I hope to in the near future fulfil my role in the multimodal approach to tackling these vexing problems.  Our trauma burden is also very high and the need for a multidisciplinary trauma service is clear.  In the capacity of a trauma and critical care surgeon I look forward to making a positive difference in the lives of trauma victims as well as shape preventative policies to save lives.
